A large gem of a house in a peaceful suburb of Cape Town with magnificent views of the back of Table Mountain. Quick access to the Clifton beaches, Camps Bay restaurants and the V&A Waterfront. Great restaurants and shopping centre nearby if you don’t want to venture out too far each day. The house is huge and beautifully decorated throughout, but still feels very homely and comfortable. We made daily use of the swimming pool, barbeque and outside seating area and had a tennis coach come out to give us a few lessons on the court in the garden – a great way to start the day. We loved our stay and would highly recommend it for larger families or groups – there are numerous spacious communal areas so you will never feel on top of each other. We didn’t want to leave!
What can we say - a HUGE thank you for letting us spend a wonderful 3 weeks in your truly magical home - we loved it! It exceeded all expectations. Albertina was fantastic and we did return with a suitcase full of clean, pressed clothes!
The house and gardens were located in a beautiful part of Cape Town, and with the pool, tennis court and local walks/attractions we hardly needed to leave! However when we did venture out we experienced the joys of Cape Town, including the beaches, wildlife and excellent bars and restaurants. Such a great family house and extremely easy to navigate around the cape peninsula. Really recommend for families who want to explore what is such a fabulous holiday destination. We also really appreciated the daily visits from Albertina who helped us with any questions we had.
Your maid, Albertina, really made the holiday for us. As you already said, she is honest and hardworking. We also found her really kind with the children, friendly, and super-efficient. She offered to do our personal laundry, which was great. What I did not expect was that every day she went through the bedrooms looking for things to wash, and they turned up that afternoon beautifully pressed.
Just to let you know we had a wonderful holiday and absolutely loved the house and location. Little Oscar had so much space to crawl around and was so content in the little childrens room. My daughter managed to do all the research she needed to. A big thank you for sorting the arrangements out at the end and hopefully we will be able to return as we only managed to work our way through a few of the recommendations in the house book.
We had a wonderful holiday, the house was even better than you described, and was absolutely perfect for our needs. It is beautifully furnished, but in a clever way that makes it not too scary for a family with 2 young boys. They really enjoyed the space and the bunk beds. The pool was just what we needed, and our 3-year-old son enjoyed having "swimming galas".
The outside areas were ideal for brais and outside breakfasts, and we spent so much time there that we did not use the dining room or drawing room as much as we should have. Albertina, the maid, was charming, helpful, honest and hard working.
We had a fabulous time at Craiglea and thought it the most beautiful house and we are definitely keen to come back. We found all the facilities superb and the whole thing has been superbly done.
Thanks for supplying the basis for a great holiday, the first restful holiday we've had since having the boys!
We absolutely loved every minute of our stay at Craiglea. It really is a beautiful house, with everything we could have possibly needed. The location was also ideal, the pool was lovely, the tennis courts were brilliant, the grounds are stunning and the rooms were perfect. We all agreed we would love to return to the house and stay again.
